Noelle Carey

About

Noelle Carey, a mezzo-soprano from London, Ontario, is in the first year of her Master of Opera degree at the University of British Columbia. Her love for music began with over a decade of piano lessons before discovering her passion for singing. Her roles include Hansel (Hansel and Gretel, 2022), Mae Jones (Street Scene, 2025), and chorus (H.M.S. Pinafore, 2024) at UBC. At Western University, she performed Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), La Marquise (La Fille du Régiment), and Mère Jeanne (Dialogues des Carmélites) in opera scenes. In 2023, she sang La Maestra della Novizie (Suor Angelica) at the Saluzzo Opera Festival and participated in the Barcelona Festival of Song after placing third in the 2022 Latin-American and Iberian Art Song Challenge. In March 2025, she portrayed Javotte in Massenet’s Manon with the Opera West Society.
