Opera under the Stars at UBCO

UBC Okanagan and Opera Kelowna will partner to present a free concert in the courtyard of the UBCO campus. “Opera Under the Stars” will offer world-class voices – those of the professional, worldclass cast of Opera Kelowna’s August 2017 production of Puccini’s La bohème – in a relaxed and casual environment. The concert promises to enthral a diverse and inclusive audience with the happiness and beauty of classical singing.
Bring your own blankets and chairs – there will be refreshments available for purchase: wine courtesy of Quails’ Gate, beer, and soft drinks alongside Aramark food boxes. All ages are welcome and encouraged to mingle, move about and even dance to the familiar operatic favourites in a festival atmosphere.

Festivals Kelowna’s Park’s Alive and Opera Kelowna will partner to present an evening featuring the voices of our amazing emerging artists.
This concert showcases young talent from both near and far – including Soprano Ada Chitay Bautista of Ciudad de Guatemala, who will be singing a series of nineteenth-century Guatemalan songs!

For this concert, Creative Okanagan and Opera Kelowna will partner to present an evening of opera and classical guitar, featuring Opera Kelowna alumnus Soprano Siobhan Raupach and her husband, guitarist Kevin Robinson.
