Opera Kelowna is partnering with friends up and down Highway 97 to bring an exquisite musical experience to your backyard this September.

The recital series features internationally recognized tenor Colin Ainsworth and renowned collaborative pianist Laura Loewen, who have crafted a program entitled “Ring of Words.” The selections feature beautiful poetic language that explores the cycles of joy, love, sorrow and loss, encompassed in early 20th and 21st-century music for piano and voice. Enjoy poignant performances of the works of British composers Ralph Vaughn William and Gerald Finzi, Venezuelan-French composer Reynaldo Hahn. Then be prepared for a startling, laugh-out-loud song cycle by Tom Cipullo featuring the poetry of former U.S Poet Laureate Billy Collins.  The recital concludes with the soaring and stirring music of well-loved Neapolitan music.  Will there be a brief and delightful opportunity for audience participation?  Join us and find out!
